Clik here to view. There’s nothing like hitting rock bottom and discovering the rock at the bottom. God. There were times when the voices in my head are louder than the voices around me. I went through a lot of dark nights and there was only one name that came to my rescue. Jesus is his name. People visited me when I felt like I was in seclusion and will try to help me but nobody understood I was going through eternally except Jesus. It wasn’t until I threw away all of my pain medication, anxiety and depression and started making better choices that my life started to get better but even then it was still a fight. So how has God became a passion in my life I can’t put it into words I just feel it in my heart.
I attended LeadHer when in 2011 a chapter in Rancho Cucamonga California. It was very helpful to me at the time that I could be around other women who loved the Lord and when that chapter no longer existed I still felt the impact of LeadHer in my heart. I tried starting one in 2012 but circumstances prevented me from launching. It wasn’t until 2014 when I was able to launch LeadHer Local Eastvale, a community desperately in need of Jesus. My Heavenly Father continues to work on me to be who he has called me to be for him. He puts me in different situations with different people, testing my character and strength. He honors my obedience to Him even though there are times when I’m the only one in my chapter meeting.
What advice would you give a woman who might be wrestling with the decision to start a chapter? I would tell her to step out, it doesn’t hurt to try and she will never know what she is capable of until she walks in faith. Never get discouraged in the little beginnings for they have some of the most powerful endings.
Desiree has stepped out to be a light to women who walk in the same darkness she once walked in. A few months ago, she walked up and down the streets of Las Vegas handing out LeadHer cards and sharing the Gospel. LeadHers do not accept limits but rather surrender them to a limitless God.
