It has been a couple of weeks since the excitement and experience of LeadHer Live DFW has faded. Should it fade? I think not. I feel even more burdened for the hearts and hurts of women than I did before. God sometimes takes an event to begin the building process of something new. Think about the event, the first time that you were presented with the opportunity to know Christ personally and make that profession in your heart. God began to build new purposes and decisions in your heart.
LeadHer Live DFW was a one night gathering of members of local chapters, chapter coordinators from other states, LeadHer staff, and a diverse group of women in the community gathered in one place expectant for what God was going to do. I knew when the vision was casted for this event, God had greatness planned for his daughters. Some building moments began with experiencing God through amazing worship, connection with each other, and a challenge to improve our intimacy and trust in God through prayer. We heard authentic testimonials from chapter coordinators about their journey in leadership and their prayer struggles. There were women that reconnected and committed to Jesus. Some women recognized they desperately needed a visit with Him, even came alone to find Him. For others, it was the very first time to encounter Him that changed their destiny completely.
Women left with new purpose or a calling to fulfill, while some were reminded why they
were called. We were challenged to go deeper in our prayer life and ask with boldness. LeadHer Live introduced women to the heart beat of LeadHer and founder Christie Love through sharing her story and her vision God placed in her heart a few years ago. Christie’s authenticity allows women to not disqualify themselves from the work God has for them and who they were created to be.
Being on the planning team for this event revealed a lot of the issues and obstacles that hinder women from fulfilling our purposes and increased the burden and passion even more.I have been challenged as a chapter coordinator to pray boldly for what God wants to build in our community and how He wants to use me and our chapter, specifically to edify and empower women in our corner of the world.
